Our Track Record in Community Engagement

Before becoming The Beacon Community Collective CIC, our team spent years working alongside the Walworth community - running projects, building relationships, and securing funding to turn community ideas into reality.

Here are just a few examples of the projects we’ve delivered and supported through successful funding applications:

Aylesbury Estate Mural & Planting Day

With funding secured for a local improvement project, we worked with residents to clean up a visible, neglected part of the estate. Neighbours of all ages planted shrubs and flowers, designed and painted colourful wall squares, and transformed the space into something to be proud of.

Weekly Lunch Club

Funded through community grants, the lunch club brought people together over a hot meal - reducing isolation, improving mental wellbeing, and giving local residents a place to share ideas and make connections.

Community Fun Days Across Three Estates

Working with local volunteers and supported by successful funding bids, we helped organise fun days across three housing estates. These events were designed and ran with the residents of each estate who brought homemade food, games, and music into shared spaces, creating stronger neighbourhood connections and making the estates feel safer and more welcoming.

The Impact

• Engaged with TRAs (Tenant & Resident Associations) and councillors

• Continued volunteering and joining local activities
